That time when demons walked the Earth
Starting from the post "A look in my Makeup Kit: Part one", I've decided that I would blog weekly. But for the life of me, I cannot think of a topic to write about for this week. So, I decided to just share this short story, that I've written back in 2013, with you. I hope you enjoy it! Also tell me if you want a continuation teehee
Bang.
Bang.
Robert killed two people with his gun. People started
gathering around the body, they were oblivious to the fact of who had
done it. They didn't even notice the bodies were bloodless. Only the
crazy woman who always hung out in that street noticed.
“Blood! Blood everywhere!” She was screaming
sarcastically and laughing at her own joke.
Robert looked at her with resentment and started walking
again.
He was careful and silent as he made his way to the dark
alley. He looked back and checked if someone had followed him, there
seemed to be no one.
Someone shouted his name and he cringed.
It was his high school best friend, Cooper.
His clothes were tattered, like he'd been living in the
streets. Cooper eyed Robert warily and noticed the blood.
“Still like playing games, don't you?”
He smirked at Robert and all he got as a reply was an
'Hmp' and a dark look. Robert wasn't too enthusiastic with Cooper's
carelessness.
Cooper started ripping off his clothes. He took the jar
of blood from Robert and dipped the ripped fabric in the jar.
He then started drawing on the musty floor of the dark
alley and muttered words.
“With this blood, I summon you.”
He finished drawing and stared at his work, a pentagram.
His eyes were full of awe as if he's seeing something of beauty, even
when he knew it would be the cause of chaos and destruction.
He took a deep breath and started saying words again, as
if it's a prayer he'd come to memorize.
“Oh dark soul, you are the one who shall walk the
earth. You are the one who shall rule and be known. You are--”
Cooper was cut off with a gunshot.
The cops had arrived but he wasn't worried. For the task
had been done, they had summon it.
“Ready?” Cooper gets his gun and Robert nods at him.
“Stop right where you are!” And those were the last
words of the first cop, Robert had shot him right on the head and he
fell to the ground. The other cops started firing at Robert and
Cooper but they didn't fight back because it was done. They had
unleashed the devil. They fell to the ground like the first cop but
with smiles on their faces.
The cops walked closer to their bodies, that's when the
ground started shaking and an explosion send them all backwards.
Azazel had been summoned.
“Heed my call for this place! For it will drown in
burning hell! Demons shall take and eat your souls.” He smiled at
the thought of fresh innocent souls and licked his sharp teeth. “No
one can defy the wrath of the lords of hell!”
The cops exchanged looks as if saying to each other that
Azazel was crazy. They started ganging up on him and Azazel can't
help but laugh at their foolishness. With a snap, he raised Cooper
and Robert back to life. “You two! Kill them!”
They did as he said, they were like puppets. They looked
human and very much alive, but their souls are no longer in them.
The cops kept firing at Robert and Cooper's undead
bodies, but there was no effect.
Within minutes, all the cops were dead.
Azazel looked around and smiled.
“This world will be mine.”

The world as Max knew it was upside down. Ever since the
first demon, Azazel, had been summoned, everyone had followed suit
like it was a hot trend. A lot of the summoning had been done by
teenagers, who thought that if they did the summoning right, they
could control the demon. Well, it was a pretty stupid thought
considering demons are their own masters. They don't like being
bossed around. They like being the one who's in control. Max sighed.
Teenagers really tend to be too naive.
He ran to the little girl who was in awe of the demon in
front of her, an Ukobach. He grabbed her before it can throw fire at
her.
“What was that?” The little girl asked her.
“It's Boogeyman. So stay away from it. Okay? Go home
if you can.” He patted the little girl's head.
“Okay.” The little girl started swaying her way
back home and Max wished he could walk her home to safety. But he had
more things to worry about, like the fireball-throwing demon and
frying people around town right now.
“Mona! Don't be such a bitch!” Lance had screamed at
her.
Max had to keep from punching himself from the ignorance
these two were making.
According to the file sent to him by the headquarters,
Mona is Lance's girlfriend. Both of them were humans. Well, another
pair of humans who are inferior enough to raise a demon again.
He had to stop their ritual before they could fully do
it. Mona was already saying the summoning spell when Max grabbed
Lance and pointed his knife onto his neck.
“Say another word and he dies.” Max said through
gritted teeth. He was trying to go for a criminal slash murderer kind
of feel. He wasn’t really going to hurt him or kill him. He just
needed to distract Mona or give her something to bargain for.
For a second Max thought he was successful since Mona
was staring at her wide-eyed and scared. But then she just rolled her
eyes and started chanting again.
Great, he thought, wild
and fast-living teenagers.
With one swift motion, he pressed a weak pressure point
on Lance’s neck and he went limp on his arms. Mona started chanting
faster.
Max grabbed her and pressed the same weak pressure
point. They were both lying on the floor, unconscious.
“Angelus mundatis hoc malediction...”
He took the bottle of holy water from his belt and poured it onto the
pentagram drawn on the ground as he said those words. Angel,
clean this curse.
